Heat vs Fire - Game 4

I'm officially an anxious soccer mom.

This is the Heat's 4th game,

and this is the 4th time I could barely sleep the night before. - <<yawn>>

A sip of coffee . . . and I'm good.

Okay, so here's the rundown from today's game.

The first half of today's game didn't go so well.

The Heat was down 4 nothing at the half.

But, after a few minute break at half time and a pep talk from Coach Paul,

They rallied during the 2nd half scoring 3 points.

With minutes to go in the second half, the score was Heat 3 - Fire 4

The game got intense.

I could no longer sit.  I was up jumping around and cheering on our team.

All the players were down around our goal.

One of Fire's players took a goal shot.

The ball was headed straight for the goal, with the goalie out of reach.

But guess who jumped in front of it and blocked it?!?!

You got it!  My Lil' Peanut!!

She kept the game Heat 3 - Fire 4 (Final Score).

Unfortunately I didn't get a pic of it, but that block was AWESOME!

Although they didn't win,  The Heat really pulled it together the 2nd half.

This is the Heat's first loss.

They are now 3-1.

Heat vs Terminators

The Heat had their work cut out for them today.

The Terminators are a very aggressive team.

At the end of the 1st half the score was Heat 0 Terminators 1

The Heat came back the second half ready to take on The Terminators.

They did great!

Final Score: Heat 3 Terminators 1

I'm so proud of all of them.

The Heat is now 3 - 0.

Go Heat!!

This is the kick that blocked a goal and also put my baby out for the rest of the game.  She injured herself and sat out 10 minutes after it started.  She was very disappointed!

Just for Fun

The craziness of summer is over,

And the craziness of a new school year has begun.

I thought I'd just blog some pictures of our September thus far.

The boys came up with their own band.  They call themselves "The Britton Boys".  My only guess on the name is from a former address of ours. :)

We are a big board gaming family.  Here they are playing Brain Quest States.

Our daughter loves magic.  Here she is performing a magic trick for they boys.  They were impressed.

He beat me 3 times at Dominoes.  Grrrrrr.  Here's his game winning piece.

I quit. And his sister was more than eager to play. -- Hey, Here's a magic trick that I can perform.  Notice how messy the desks are??  "Abracadabra!"

The mess has disappeared!  Aren't I good at this magic thing?!?

She beat her brother.  He took it well.  He was still soaring on his three previous wins.

I posted this one on FB.  He's just so cute though.  My kids love dominoes and there are so many things you can do with them!

My oldest found this praying mantis while he was playing.  It was actually hanging on the bottom of his swing while he was swinging.

And what do all boys do with insects??  Play with them of course...until it bit him.  Then he let it go.

We are seeing lots of these guys this month.  This is our 5th sighting of one since the beginning of Sept.  Maybe our praying mantis release earlier this year wasn't such a bust after all.

Had to add this one in the group.  Because so many times this month, this is what has happened while we are trying to either get home or leave somewhere.  This time, two trains were passing each other doing about 5MPH.  We patiently waited (counting the 113 cars) until the one pictured above decided to stop on the tracks and not move anymore.  Just one of the many joys of living by the tracks.

Blasts or Bells

After many nights of interrupted sleep, the pencil hits the paper.

I think she has a great idea.

10pm - 6am would be ideal...just sayin'.

She grabbed a pencil and got down to business.

I suggested that she might want to write that they were blasting their horns at night.  She didn't want to hurt their feelings, so she wrote 'blow' instead.

She Googled CSX and got their address. K just jumped in the pic to make a crazy face.

So now we mail the letter.  Will they read it?  C said, "They better read this or they're in big trouble."  And if they do, what will they choose?  Blasts or Bells?  We're hoping for bells.  Hey, it's okay to dream the unlikely, right?

Where did the allergy-free blog go?

As many of you know, I'm a fairly private person.  I don't like sharing much over the internet.  It was really hard for me to even start this blog.  The only reason I did was because I took a break from FB for half of a year, and I wanted my parents to be able to still see what was going on with us.   (No, we're not cool enough to skype yet)

I set all my blogs so that they could not be found on search engines.  I really wanted to control who could see my blogs to the best of my ability.  I realize that it's on the internet and I don't have full control, but I can make it harder for people to stumble onto them by requiring the address be put into the browser exactly how it's supposed to be.  Also, when I share my link on FB I make it so only my friends can see it - unless of course it is shared by my friends.  

Anyway,  I frequently keep an eye on where my blog traffic is coming from.  My allergy-free blog for some reason was getting hits from Asia, Europe, Germany and Russia.  When I'd click on the link to see what site in particular the traffic was coming from, they were either broken links or they were from sites I didn't necessarily want traffic coming from.  So, I have decided to delete that blog.  My homeschooling blog and this one don't have any of those problems.  So I will keep them up and running.  

I am a little disappointed that I had to delete the blog, but I can always share my love of recipes and certain food brands on here.  :)

And as a start, I love, love, love Enjoy Life's chocolate chunks.  Mmmmm.  I can eat them as a treat, or make a yummy cookie bar with them and there are only three ingredients!  Also, Cape Cod brand potato chips...Yum!!  They have little to no allergens, and they always soothe my salt craving.
