Grammy & Papa Visit

September 16-22, 2013
Making a banner to welcome the grandparents

Making final touches

The sign is hung . . . Now all we do is wait.

"Here they come!  Here they come!"

Grammy & Papa took them out for their birthday presents.  An escalator ride!  At least the boys were excited.

Seriously though, they went to the LEGO store.

These two loved creating their own people

C & Gv worked on a car

The other two were making a prison and dropping Lego people inside

Even Papa joined in on the fun

Four very happy kids with their birthday presents

This little guy immediately got to work on his set

Next was bowling

Grammy preparing to get a strike. ;)

She almost did . . . just one pin to go.

We also went to NASA's Space and Rocket Center.  It coincided well with our study of the moon in science.

We had some fun controlling a mars rover and getting our family on video

There they are . . . unexpectedly being recorded.

He was the only one brave enough to go on the G Force.  He loved it.

He just crashed his space shuttle here.  I love his expressions.

Yep, the person in the orange is me.  I made it to the top.  Then repelled down . . .

I hit the ground pretty hard and ended up on my back, laughing hysterically.  Somewhat out of embarrassment I'm sure.

C made it to the top

My boys were ripping up that wall

We learned that we would need 75,000 Papa's to get the Saturn V off the ground

Feeling the force of five engine thrusters

My kids went to the moon.  After all that is why we were there.

A science experiment: Which has more density?  Water or oil?

A rainy day = time to play with LEGO's and K'nex

A rainy day also = Uno, Apples to Apples,

Sorry and . . .

The Sentence Game - Caution: When you don't play by the rules, it may cause hysterics. (Dad this is for you)

Tree Frog hunting - Our youngest LOVES frogs, so we went out searching for them.

We heard them, but they didn't want to be found.  Gt had fun with Papa regardless. :)
Their visit seemed to go way too quickly.
We'll see you next year Grammy & Papa!
