Matt and I have been doing 'The Abs Diet' for a couple weeks now. It is going well. It's a diet that we think we can have as a way of life. One of the things I love about it, is that I'm not hungry during the day. We're eating six small meals a day, packed with protein, veggies, fruits, whole wheat and nuts.
Anyway...We came up with this smoothie that is oh so tasty and packed full of protein. It is so filling and is great as a quick breakfast, 3 o'clock pick me up or a tasty bedtime snack. The only downside that I can see, is that it leaves little chunks of blueberries in your teeth. So, don't forget to floss/brush afterwards!!
You will need: A blender, Vanilla Low Fat Yogurt, Lowfat Milk, Ice, Chocolate Whey Protein, Frozen Blueberries, Banana
To make two 16oz servings (or four 8 oz):
2/3 cup yogurt
2/3 cup milk
1 cup ice
1-2 scoops whey
1 cup blueberries
1 banana
Pulse blend the yogurt, milk and ice for about a minute. Add the whey protein and pulse blend for another minute. [You may want to pause it and mix with a spoon a little to make sure the whey protein is blending in and not clumping on the top.] Add the frozen blueberries and banana and pulse blend for another minute. Pour, enjoy, then brush your teeth. =)
[We have also tried it with strawberries instead of blueberries, but it was very gritty because of the seeds.]
